Lisa Ling

I don't even have the strength to post the bitchcon meter today. Lisa Ling was a guest on THE VIEW. It breaks my heart and makes me cry to be reminded that THE VIEW drove Lisa Ling away in favor of Elizabeth Hasselbeck. Lisa Ling is so smart and well-informed. She was the ONLY "young lady" co-host on THE VIEW who had a brain, and what a brain she has! She's so beautiful and graceful and thoughtful. She's well-spoken and dedicated to covering VERY difficult stories no one else is covering. Since leaving THE VIEW, Ling has covered many complex women's issues in China, Iraq, and (I think) Afghanistan. I know THE VIEW isn't FRONTLINE, but it's a real shame that THE VIEW couldn't have held onto a real talent like Lisa Ling. It was pretty clear from her intro video package why she left. They showed clip after clip of her enduring daytime TV ratings stunts (getting pierced on live TV, sumo wrestling, dancing with Nsync, etc.) Oxygen will premiere "Sex Workers or Victims?" the third installment of the network's Who Cares About Girls? documentary series, on Sunday, March 30 at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT. In the one-hour special, host Lisa Ling reports on the underage prostitution crisis in the U. S. with in-depth coverage on cases in New York, Dallas and Las Vegas. Ling speaks with current and former juvenile prostitutes, rides along with law enforcement officers trying to stop the traffickers and goes behind-the-scenes at innovative programs committed to giving these girls an opportunity to build a better life.
